Hummel Sneakers…
i was in soo much shock when i was reading thru July’s Edition of Dazed and Confused Magazine and come across and advert for a pair of funky trainers by non other than Hummel. For those who dont really know about Hummel… they currently sponser alot of sports teams mainily handball. When training with the Womens GB team in sheffield the girls were all kitted out and sponsered in Hummel clothing and those times i thought where is adidas? whats happened.?? LOL but hummel is slowly re-inventing themselfves becoming more and more funkier & fruity!!!
here’s the HUMMEL the danish sports brand in action with Team GB. (it actaully makes sence that they were it as they train full time in denmark 8/9 months a year)

Aitor Throup: Designer & Illistrator
Whilst doing my studies for “Anomaly within Sport” my new FMP for my foundation, i come across a friend of mines video (chip) on youtube in collaboration with umbro, supporting a new project called “tailored heroes”.
From watching this video i saw the links as followed leading to the www.youtube.com/umbro page and seeing other videos of how the garment was being made/designed etc.
Here are some of the videos of the making of the new UMBRO ENGLAND football kit.
Oviously with Sports and Art a huge interest in my life, and 2 important things that i wish to study next year at LCF in an active sportswear BA degree i was keen to find out more about the designer of this kit… whom is a London based designer AITOR THROUP after much searching on google i found out that he has also designed a hole range of jackets.
This googel eyed kind of theme is very similar to the LOCATION jackets.
One of my favorite jackets is this one with skulls everywear…
His award winning collection for ITS#5 design compeition is just amazing. The collection is inspired by a a story of a Hindu boy being killed by a group of football holigans in a racist attack. The show starts out with traditional streetwear styles and garments and slowly transforms into pieces fusing with images from Hindu mythology.

The research and ideas behind this jacket is just so intreging for any up and coming london artist, to see such great designs, help to inspire us to create great garments and do Britain Proud. His illistrations are amazing, and even the trouser desings with the 2 gastrocnemus muscles pads at the back is soo interesting to imagine Aitors thort process.

I LOVE THE FACT HE TALKS ABOUT THE BODY and THE BODY in motion… we need more artist/designers that look at this important factor, cos everythink does come down to body shape and size and our bodies function.
